Beyond Programme
Glasgow 2024 does not stop at the door to the SEC! Beyond Programme connects the convention and its membership to the wider surroundings of Glasgow. It’s all too easy to come to Worldcon and be so busy that you don’t get to fully appreciate the city that is hosting the event; we don’t want this to be one of those years!
Tours and Activities
Glasgow 2024 is pleased to offer an exciting itinerary of guided tours and activities throughout the convention period and the days immediately before and after. These have been arranged specifically for Glasgow 2024 attendees, with sign-up required in advance to secure your place.
The scheduled tours and activities include:
- Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre (Wed 7 August and Sun 11 August)
- Glasgow Bridges Walking Tour (Fri 9 August)
- Hunterian Collections at Kelvin Hall – Alasdair Gray Artefacts (Friday 9th August)
- Hunterian Collections at Kelvin Hall – History of Science (Friday 9th August)
- Intro to Hand Dyeing Workshop (Fri 9 August)
- Grahamston – Glasgow’s Forgotten Village Walking Tour (Sat 10 August)
- Tobacco Lords and Merchant City Walking Tour (Mon 12 August)
- Glasgow’s West End – Museums, Gardens and the River Kelvin Walking Tour (Tue 13 August)
- Glasgow’s Merchant City, Necropolis and Glasgow Green Walking Tour (Wed 14 August)
We are also preparing some self-guided tours that you can of course do in your own time and at your own convenience.
