Danny Flynn
Originally from Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire, Danny graduated from Kingston University with an Illustration BA (Hons) in 1984. Since then, Danny has illustrated the covers for many hundreds of novels for the best-known Science Fiction & Fantasy authors – a list that includes Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and George RR Martin. Danny has also provided Concept Art for projects with EA Games, Frontier and Traveller’s Tales for the Crash Bandicoot franchise (Twinsanity).
Sir Arthur C. Clarke, author of the classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, wrote the foreword to a compendium book of Danny’s paintings Only Visiting This Planet – The Art of Danny Flynn (Paper Tiger Books). In recent years, Danny has been creating a unique brand of quirky characters; hundreds of the universe’s misfits and eccentrics who live in a secret “world” deep inside of the moon! www.moonaliens.co.uk.
Over the last five years, Danny has also been creating illustrations for jigsaw puzzles and poster art for Walmart USA. One of Danny’s paintings has been included in a major new book about the history of Fantasy Art, The Art Of Fantasy by S Elizabeth (Frances Lincoln Books), with another of Danny’s paintings, “Bee Eater” seen in the recent Netflix drama Eric starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
