Fred Gambino
I have been working as an illustrator and concept artist for four decades, initially as a book cover artist, working traditionally in oils and acrylic, then latterly as a concept artist for film and games, working mainly digitally.
In the early years I produced covers for such notables as Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov and during my career as a concept artist I have worked on a number of animations as well as Marvel blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok.
More recently my debut novel, Dark Shepherd has been published by NewCon Press. It was a lot of fun to be the cover artist for my own book. A digital print of the cover will be on display.
The works on display at the Worldcon art show will showcase new art produced traditionally in oils and pencil, some inspired by the Dark Shepherd story and some actually used in the Dark Shepherd deluxe edition of the novel. It will be the first time I have exhibited such work in many years.
