Conference Rover
Scotrail offers a Glasgow Conference Rover ticket which provided unlimited rail travel within the Glasgow Conference Zone for five days for just £5. The unlimited, flexible pass makes hopping around Glasgow quick and simple. Holders can also get discounts of up to 50% on travel outside the Conference Zone. You will need to show your membership badge when buying the ticket.
Glasgow Science Centre
The Glasgow Science Centre is located directly across the river from the SEC campus, so literally just a couple of minutes walk from the convention. The centre includes a Science Mall, Planetarium and IMAX theatre.
We are delighted to announce that the Science Centre team has arranged a special programme of events specifically for Worldcon, including a week of science fiction movies at the IMAX theatre.
Glasgow 2024 Members and Ticket Holders will receive 40% off the standard Science Mall admission fee on production of their membership badge or proof of registration. (Note: additional charges apply for the Planetarium and IMAX shows).
Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience
This exhibition has recently opened at the SEC, and will run until Monday, 26 August. Covering 40,000 sq ft of exhibition space, it blends more than 300 of the post-Impressionist icon’s paintings with cutting-edge technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack. Visitors are invited to wander through iconic works as they come alive around you, including The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night, and be enveloped by a selection of his revealing self-portraits which might just blink back at you.
For more information, see the Beyond Van Gogh website or watch the official trailer on Youtube.
