Hotel Details
Glasgow 2024 is pleased to announce that in working with Glasgow Convention Bureau we have secured allocation at thirty-four hotels, twenty-two of which have modified rooms for access needs. Regardless of location and amenities, all hotel rooms in our room blocks are managed by the Glasgow Convention Bureau (GCB).
The vast majority of hotel rates include Bed and Breakfast, unless otherwise stated. Of the hotels in our allocation, seven are located on Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus (SEC): Crowne Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn, Campanile, Moxy, Courtyard, Radisson Red, and Village. There is also a Premier Inn hotel on site; however, they only allow bookings through their own website. Each of these are a short, step-free walk from the main convention venues. The twenty-seven other hotels are all located in and around Glasgow city centre and the west end of Glasgow—all with excellent transport links to the venue.
As our rates in most cases are significantly lower than those currently available, we need to avoid bookings by non-members, so the link to the booking site will not be public. The link will be communicated to attending members of Glasgow 2024, i.e., those with a WSFS Membership (this includes people who hold one of the following: Full Adult, Scottish Fan, First Worldcon, Under-Represented, Young Adult, Scottish YA, Teenager, Online Membership, Supporting/WSFS Only, and those on the Instalment Plan).
Childcare will be available in the Campanile Hotel, should that affect your choice.
Our accommodation partner, the Glasgow Convention Bureau, has provided the following information:
Hotel Accommodation Factsheet
As the official accommodation provider for Worldcon Glasgow 2024, Glasgow Convention Bureau has secured the following:
• 2,000 hotel rooms, all less than two miles from the SEC
• 2-star hotels–5-star hotels, including Serviced Apartments
• Accessible room types available
• Prices ranging from £120–£322 per night
Our rates are commercially sensitive, so we are not able to share full details publicly. Our lowest rate is £125 Single Occupancy and £135 Double Occupancy, our highest rate is £329 Single Occupancy and £345 Double Occupancy, with our average room rate being £163 Single Occupancy and £176 Double Occupancy. Please note that these rates include all taxes and most (over 95%) include a full breakfast.
Room Rate | Single Occupancy | Double Occupancy |
Lowest Rate | £125 | £135 |
Highest Rate | £329 | £345 |
Campus Average | £158 | £172 |
Overall Average | £162 | £175 |
Because of the sensitivity of our rates and because we want to ensure our hotel rooms go to convention members, you will need to be a WSFS Member of the convention (WSFS Only will do) to access the hotel booking page when it is launched.
Glasgow has 9,500 hotel bedrooms within two miles of the SEC, and there are eight on-site hotels within a five-minute walk. If you would rather find your own accommodation, there are also 2,000 AirBnB rooms and 1,200 Guesthouse/Bed & Breakfast rooms in the city, plus other hotels further out from the centre.
